Billing & limits

Subscriptions and usage limits depend on your plan and organization (or user-level subscription for personal workspaces).

Plans

Typical dimensions (names vary by product):

  • Free — Core usage for individuals or trials; lower caps on repositories, storage, or marketplace seller features.
  • Team / Pro — Higher limits, org features, priority support (if offered).
  • Enterprise — Custom contracts, SSO, audit, and compliance add-ons.

Check the Pricing page on the marketing site or the Billing section in the app for your current entitlements.

What is metered?

Commonly metered items include:

  • Number of repositories or private repositories
  • Storage for resources and Git objects
  • API or automation rate limits
  • Marketplace seller capabilities

When you approach a limit, the UI or API usually returns a clear error — upgrade or remove unused resources to continue.

Payment method

  • Card or invoice (enterprise) — Managed in Billing settings.
  • Receipts — Available from the billing portal or email confirmations.

Changing plans

  • Upgrades often take effect immediately; downgrades may apply at the next billing period.
  • Confirm whether downgrades affect private repos or marketplace listings.

Cancellation

  • Cancel from billing settings where supported.
  • Data export — Before closing an account, export repositories and resources you need to keep. Retention after cancellation follows your data policy and contract.
